Migration
Migration is a Boulder, Colorado bird print made from a winter scene most of us see so often we stop noticing it. Every year, hundreds of thousands of geese spend the colder months in Colorado, moving along the Central Flyway just east of the Continental Divide after summering farther north. They become part of the background—until you slow down long enough to really watch them.
Migrating birds have always held my attention, and on darker days when I want more light into the lens, I’ll intentionally lower the shutter speed and lean into motion. The goal isn’t a frozen portrait—it’s a feeling: wings cutting air, the rhythm of a flock lifting off, time passing inside a single still frame. I saw the geese about to take off, focused where I expected they’d pass, and with that slow shutter I caught them as they flew through the reeds—soft, abstract, and perfectly alive.
If you’re looking for Boulder Colorado wall art or a motion blur bird print that feels quiet and dynamic at the same time, Migration brings a subtle sense of movement into a home or office—an everyday natural phenomenon, seen with fresh attention.
