Wild Friends
Wild Friends is a Dream Lake, Rocky Mountain National Park print made during a strange and heavy summer in 2020—when the pandemic felt endless and wildfire smoke hung in the air across Colorado. We hiked to Dream Lake on an especially smoky day, and the atmosphere changed everything. The light was muted and diffused, the mountains softened at the edges, and the whole scene carried this quiet, apocalyptic beauty that’s hard to forget.
Along the shoreline, a duck swam right up to us—close enough that, with the wide-angle lens I was using, you can imagine how near she actually was. I don’t usually encourage getting close to wildlife, but she seemed completely at ease, like she’d spent plenty of time around people. She followed us along the lake, lingered in the reeds, and kept turning back as if she wanted to be included in the moment.
If you’re looking for Dream Lake wall art or a Rocky Mountain National Park lake print that blends landscape and wildlife—calm water, soft haze, and a small unexpected connection—Wild Friends brings a quiet story into a home or office.
